Bert

It has been a busy day...

This is Bert, bottom left. His son (visiting from the UK) is on this right. His neice's husband who's name escapes me right now is back right and of course me, top left.

Bert was a client of the vet surgery where Jo works and Jo ended up looking after his and his wife Robyn's dogs when they went away. Friendship bloomed and the rest is history. The dogs are in doggy heaven but we both still remain good friends with Bert and Robyn.

Bert celebrated his 80th birthday today. A big milestone.

Here is something worth thinking about. Bert is around a year older than my father-in-law but he still has all his well, marbles. He even still drives. Bert attributes his longevity to having a younger wife. We won't go there. I think is also the fact that he is a very active and social man.

Anyway after lunch at the local pub we dizzeled back to Bert and Robyns place. The red wine ran freely. It was a good afternoon. I came home at 3.30 and had to rest a while... It seemed like a waste of the rest of the afternoon but that is what weekends are for, isn't it?

This evening is turning out to be low key.
