Evening Sunshine at Himmelreich

After a long day with gardening, some admin work, lunch and coffee at my mother’s house, grocery shopping and chores, I was in no mood for cooking. P kindly invited me to Himmelreich (which literally translates as Heavenly Kingdom, but is quite a popular place name in Germany). Our version of Himmelreich is a small local restaurant that’s only open in Summer and serves simple,  regional food.

The main blip shows the view from their terrace.

The extra is a rhododendron in my mother’s garden. Both the buds and open flowers are from the same bush, and both photos taken today.
It’s a plant that came from a cutting I took (from a huge rhododendron bush in an abandoned garden) when I was still at school, and now it has grown almost as big as its mother plant was then.
