Dawn Patrol
I was up earlier than usual this morning to walk and get a few chores done before the heat set in. The farm dogs were excited to see someone walking along the track and up the hill and came barking and wagging their tails in greeting. I enjoyed seeing the puppies but was quite pleased their parents were on the other side of the fence. The dozing goats were unfazed.
There has been a terrific heat today. The last remaining figs left on the trees for the birds and other wild creatures exude a warm sugary fermenting smell as they start to drop and rot. Good compost!
