200 St Vincent Street, Glasgow

This fine building dated 1929 was designed by Sir John James Burnet. It is one of many listed buildings on the street. This one was built for the North British and Mercantile Insurance Company as their Glasgow branch and is A listed.
The three main carved figures on the building are St Andrew by Archibald Dawson, 1929 and the other two are of a seafarer and his wife, 1953, by Mortimer, Willison and Graham. They are believed to be modelled on Dawson and his wife.
