While Mom's Away...

..the cat will play! 

My cat sitter sent me this photo this morning...before I left the cottage...It seems that Maggie has been having friends in while I have been away! And here I was worrying about her being lonely! 

Her until-now-secret friend is Kahlan, my cat sitter Elaine's wild and crazy, but lovable Red Fox Labrador Retriever...known for its unbridled enthusiasm, for leaping, twirling, and jumping up on visitors, tail wagging furiously at all times...And..here she is, calmly standing by while Maggie enjoys her breakfast? Wow...Who knew? 

Apparently Kahlan accompanies Elaine when she comes in to feed and pet and comb Maggie..I knew that, but assumed she was tied up at the door or some such thing.. well out of cat-range. I did not realize that she and Maggie had become friends! Wonders never cease..

It was a long day - coming home from the cottage always is..lots to do before leaving and then the long road home..to unpack, make up for lost time with the cat, and take note of all the chores and garden work that need to be done before leaving again for the cottage in two weeks! Whew! Exhausting! 

Tomorrow? First thing..get the car to Speedy Glass to fix or replace the windshield...got hit with a stone or whatever while going through a construction zone in heavy traffic on the freeway..Geez..just one more thing, eh? Also, return overdue books to the library..I was only able to read three of the five I took north...and drat, none were renewable! And then? Get out the gardening tools..It's a jungle out there! ...It will be a busy two weeks...

PS: the loon did sing!
