Getting the sparkle back

In prime position on the cat tree. Today I had the first session in my latest round of pottery classes. It's a new venue, the Mud Station, and this evening we made a pinch pot and a coil pot. It was a bit of a squash, with rather a lot of us in a smallish space, but I liked the tutor who emphasised the importance of our relationship with the clay - it wasn't just a series of instructions about what to do and what not to do, which is what most of the teaching consisted of in the other two places where I've done pottery. I will see how I like my pots at the end of the course - that's the real test!
