Morning Tea Time

Without the tea.

I suppose that is not a term used internationally for the mid morning break  but rather more used in countries that have had early British influence.

I do not remember what we called it when I went to school but as a teacher the mid morning break for students was (and I think is) called Recess.

Not sure what office people call the mid morning break. When I first started work in 1965 we still had tea ladies. A woman would wheel a tray to different desks and offer you tea and I think we got a biscuit (cookie). I liked that system very much. A Tea Lady is a long lost career path as far as I know. You certainly didn’t waste time as you kept working whilst drinking your tea and maybe dunking your biscuit.

Just found a short article below on the tea lady, if interested.

Ahh, the good old days … for some things.
