Amongst the autumnal leaves

Yesterday, I blipped one of the UK’s largest mammals but today it is one of the smallest.
I was down to Aden Park in the hope of seeing a squirrel before I cut the grass at the caravan park. No joy there.
But, I saw something move under a tree and was amazed to see a shrew, then another one.
I sat and watched them for almost half an hour. Rather dark for a fine photo but a few thoughts
They are just so small. I have seen some before but sadly, ones caught by a previous cat of ours
Both kept falling over and had to right themselves. Life can be so challenging even in good conditions.
I was wary about using a flash, but I needn’t have worried as they have very poor eyesight.
It’s hard to describe what a joy it was to see them, especially in these troubled times
Hope you enjoy seeing something amazing this weekend.
