Distinctive Chatter

Given this shot is the closest I've managed to get to the kingfisher, I thought I'd make a portrait of it. It is heavily cropped, but I think it holds up.
I can't be sure, I think there may have been a pair, judging by calls I heard. This one didn't stay still very long and it's a female, lacking the rusty patch on the breast of the male. They were in trees along the lake shore and I haven't seen them there before.
