A good start to the day

This double rainbow graced our skies for quite a while this morning. It was a surprise because there was no rain in the forecast. But 10 minutes after it disappeared a brief but intense downpour arrived.

Thank you for all the lovely comments about yesterday's first cheesieversary. The celebratory Camemberts are developing nicely.

It's another afternoon of gale force NNW winds and warm temperatures. I managed to get some things done in K's garden this morning before the weather got too uppity, but I've retreated indoors (with the doors open) to the truck and the study while the wind blasts around outside. 

These two buildings are located on a south-facing slope and as a result they are sheltered from this particular wind. It's an afternoon of ironing and cooking. 

There was a grandish opening of the hen run extension earlier. The three chooks needed no encouragement to venture into the new space and they have been happily pecking the grass and weeds there ever since. Success!
