First Outing

For some years.  TR Loco No 1, Talyllyn is approaching the end of a major overhaul which has seen her out of service for a long time.  She's been slowly reassembled after her boiler returned, today they wanted to test the motion, to see that the moving parts move correctly.   A diesel hauled her down to Wharf where I was working in the shop and immediately there was a flurry of camera activity!   Including me.  As for a return to being steamed, that still awaits.  This blue is a new colour for any of our engines.

A straightforward day in the shop, time to do a fair bit of cleaning.   The smoke, despite clean coal, results in a fine black dust indoors which builds up very slowly but still neds dealing with every so often.   It takes a surprising amount of time to clear a packed shelf.

After work a quick tea with Mum, she went to a meeting at church while I was at pottery.  The evening ended as it often does, with a visit to see Jamie.  He had a driving assessment last week, looking at the options for hand controls.  Today it was a look at a choice of vehicles.   He's ready to apply to Motability :-)

Turned into a late night and tomorrow another busy day.  Thankfully my energy levels seem almost back to normal.  Finger crossed it stays that way.
