Day at a Time

Snow on Stùc a' Chroin

First I've seen this year and it's just a dusting but all the same it's only October. We had a beautiful walk at Craigforth this morning in glorious autumn sunshine. The trees looked great but maybe not just at their peak so I'll leave trees for another day. I expected to see a lot more fungus but there wasn't much. I thought the extra was worth a blip though.

The Craigforth site is dominated by the former Scottish Amicable/Prudential office buildings. It is right by the motorway so pretty noisy in places. The buildings are being demolished and there are big plans for the huge site.  It's currently a mess. However to the back of the office buildings is an area of mature mixed woodland where very few people ever seem to walk. There's a scramble up the scarp and a path round the bottom of the hill. We managed to get into the fenced off area but the security guard kindly let us through back onto the path. It's very attractive with good views west.

There's no Sunday sleepover tonight which is a shame though probably just as well considering how little sleep I had last night. I'm in a cycle I really must break.

Here is some information about this dramatic mountain
