Timing is Everything ...

..but not this time! 

Voila! My Christmas cactus is in full bloom and it isn't even Hallowe'en yet!  I assume that this is my fault? Was I too quick or too generous with the watering can? Whatever...It is out ..in glorious white...at its peak..brightening up my craft room...

Meanwhile, outside, the autumn leaves are now falling....the hostas are turning yellow, there is still some lovely colour out there, but overall the garden is a mess..I should be out there clipping and raking and filling yard waste bags for pick-up, but the timing is not good..We have a garbage strike going on at the moment and those bags would have to sit outdoors for perhaps weeks ..in the wind and rain and foraging animals..creating a mess worse than the one that is out there already! Rather than post my own overly-blipped garden, I peeked over the fence and took a shot of my neighbour's more interesting one - to illustrate my point. (extra is removed ) Yard work has been put on hold for the moment..but that's OK; there is still time..the snow has not yet begun to fly!
