Anatole's blips

Nutcracker takeoff

Trails of footprints in the snow, hunting round the berry bushes, usually hopping rather than walking. Then the take-off ramp.

The Nutcracker culprits are quietly flying from tree to tree, occasionally shouting their characteristic squarks and croaks. Only outdone by a black woodpecker with his fabulous keen and chirrup.
