Tī Rakau/Cabbage Tree. Flowering all over the lower South Island presently. This one at Pounawea. The Catlins is supposed to be some sort of southern limit for these trees. Profuse flowering is said to be a sign of a good summer. Not so far. Fine days are being spoilt by cold winds
