Toasting

A much better day today weatherwise.
Mr HB took me to the garage to borrow a set of jump leads for my poor old car which has a flat battery , again, not long had a new one…..  Anyway, we got it started easily and took it for a good jaunt into the outskirts of Shrewsbury where I had a foray into Dunelm for a new kettle and toaster.  Why do electrical items wait for the Christmas period to fail?  Sadly, the matching kettle/toaster I had my eye on a month ago has disappeared so I’m now using my camping kettle with a whistle on the gas until I can find a nice set.  Then a quick visit to Tesco in the hope of finding some frozen gluten free puff and short pastry – quess what?  Out of stock.  Oh well a trip to Waitrose on another day will have to do, or make my own, of course? Whilst in Shrewsbury we filled up with some considerably cheaper fuel than in our town, so at least our journey wasn’t all wasted.

Once home the light was fading so I finished making some red pepper/tomato/onion soup and finished it with a topping of torn Basil leaves and some toasted seeds.  Here they are with a fresco filter for AbstractThursday.  Thank you Ingeborg for hosting.
