Beautiful Books

I walked to Buckhurst Hill to get my hair cut this morning, and this afternoon Smithers and I went over the road to our neighbours’ house. We’d actually been invited for a cup of tea, but their kitchen table was laden with a veritable feast – slices of French bread spread with a choice of either cream cheese, smoked salmon or egg mayonnaise, home made scones with jam and cream, and a huge plate of strawberries and cherries. They are a very warm and hospitable couple, and we spent an enjoyable couple of hours in their company.

Having not made the effort to take any photographs thus far today, I had to resort to taking the camera up to the ‘library’ this evening because I’m of the opinion that you can never have too many photographs of books.

So here is part of the children’s section, with a corner of the poetry section visible too.
