Railway Reserve walk

Spent far too much time today on camera club stuff, though did also squeeze in 3 loads of washing. Exciting stuff!

Late afternoon decided I needed (wanted?) a long handle for the hose that I could attach the car-washing brush to use to reach the more difficult places when I'm washing the car and the van. I have a v-e-r-y long handled hose-brush thing (over 2m long) that's great for washing the house but all I need is about half a metre of handle with the brush on the end for the vehicles. I opted to walk to Bunnings to stretch my legs a bit. Disappointingly, there's no such product available which seems totally ridiculous to me. I can buy a brush to attach to the hose, I can buy a long handled hose adapter with a spray head on it, but can I buy a long handled hose adapter that I can attach a brush to?? Nooooooo!! After much fruitless tootying in the aisles trying to figure out how I might cobble together a few different bits to achieve what I wanted, I quit trying and walked back home along the Railway Reserve empty handed.

Something one of the sales assistants had said to me prompted me to explore other ways to achieve what I wanted when I got home.......a quick hunt for some piping, test whether the hose fits through it (it does) and I'm now confident I can make my own medium-length handled hose and brush. Simple. Tomorrow I'll see if it works.

And today's pic...... Railway Reserve looking quite autumnal. Check out that parched, brown grass though :(
