First Red Shoots of Spring

The main is of our Virginia Creeper sending out its red shoots. The background shows how severely I cut back all the vegetation some months ago. I was worried for the safety of the trellis as the growth was so solid it felt more like a sail, and the prevailing winds blow straight into it. (Sadly the photo is not quite in focus.)

The extra was taken as the leaves are starting to appear on the Magnolia, and I wanted to capture the flowers before they disappeared or were blown off by Storm Kathleen.
