RIP Adam George …

… the young guide, husband and father, tragically killed in a helicopter crash four days ago. His funeral was this afternoon in a large field surrounded by the forest where he walked his dog with a stunning view of the Val Ferret. The strong foehn wind did not discourage the hundreds of people who came to pay their respects, including his guide colleagues and friends, he was so well loved. His wife and daughter must be emotionally wrung out after a very long afternoon and they had to continue into this evening. They will be well supported by the community that’s certain. Sadly Caroline’s mum, a close friend, died 4 years ago and I recently sent a message to Caroline saying that if she ever needed a mother figure, I am always there for her. Neither of us could have imagined this scenario.

Meanwhile on the Preston front, he was at the « supervet » hospital today. The doctor phoned to say Preston has to have an operation to reattach his Achilles tendon on Thursday. David is on his way back with him till then. 

A day of strong emotions.
