Saving red squirrels

OMG! Horrified to hear the first case of squirrelpox has been found in Dunfermline, about 30 miles from here.

This virus is carried by grey squirrels and kills reds.
What should I do about the red squirrels I feed here every day?
The advice is that we should remove all feeders and bird tables , and disinfect them to prevent the virus spreading. But is this only in areas where squirrelpox has been found? I don’t know.
I am in a quandary. The case was found over in Fife. It is months since we have seen any grey squirrels in this area thanks to culling carried out more than a year ago.
But I do wonder about the dead squirrel Leo brought in some weeks ago. Was it sick? Too late now to find out since it’s buried in the garden.
I will  contact Scottish Wildlife Trust.
