Tauranga

A long, but very scenic, drive from Gisborne to Tauranga passing through the Waioeka Gorge Scenic Reserve and stopping to walk down to the historic Tauranga Bridge. Built 1922 to provide access to remote farms. Impressive structure.

On to Bethlehem in Tauranga (NZs fastest growing city) to stay at a fabulous rental attached to Somerset Cottage restaurant. Very stylish, with sourdough, homemade yoghurt, muesli, lemon curd, honey provided. I think too many calories may be consumed over the next 48 hours …
