Going out in style

I left the decorators to it this morning and had a pleasant hour and a bit with my friend up the road.  They've just returned from a couple of nights in Southwold, which was cold but a break from normal routine.

Just after lunch the decorators packed up and left and now we've got to put things back (or decide what needs changing).  The windows and surrounds will also need cleaning before the curtains are put back.

They are coming back to do the hall, stairs and landing whilst we are away on holiday, but starting the day before we go, which should be interesting, and I'll definitely get in their way and vice versa.

Washing out on the line this afternoon and JJ is now mowing the lawn.  Shopping delivered and put away.  Ominous clouds are appearing over the horizon, but it's been a really pleasant day and I was out trundling around over the back by 9 a.m. That's not going to be a habit.

I thought my tulip (not poppy) deserved another outing.  It's sitting in water on the windowsill in my office and is just stunning.  The photograph doesn't do it justice.
