A Marvelous Day!

You might remember that the women's golf league that I belonged to at my former golf club had a holiday luncheon last December. We held a raffle that benefited the charity of my choice, being the former co-president of the league. One of my friends won not one but THREE tastings for four people at Blizzard Wines which is about a 20 minute drive from my house. So, today being the day, we all arrived at 11 am and spent two hours (!) tasting some marvelous wine and nibbling on, well, nibbles. This view is from the front of their tasting room. It rained on and off, and actually still is by the time I write this at 5:30 pm. (In fact it just POURED!)

My son has been suggesting that I listen to a fun daily news podcast called "Daily Beans". The women co-hosts are great and funny and in-depth and yes, they do swear, a lot. So be forewarned if you listen in. This morning Justin (my son) texted me and said "You need to listen to the Daily Beans today....make sure to listen to the good news." I had no idea what he was really talking about but I cued it up and listened while I ate breakfast. When I got to the Good News segment, this is what I heard:

"Okay, this is from Justin, pronouns he and him.
I'd like to shout out my mom, Kate, who besides just being an awesome mom, just started a blog detailing her experience being adopted as a baby. I think it's often overlooked just how kids are affected by adoption and the blog is a way for my mom to share her experience and hopefully help others feeling the same loss. I know it would mean the world to her to have others read it.
So if you're interested in the blog, everyone, it's at authenticallykate.blog, authenticallykate.blog.
.....
This is amazing. Justin, thank you. And Kate, shout out to you.”

Needless to say, I started crying...I was so surprised...what a gift from my son - it literally meant the world to me. I've had a lot of new viewers of my blog, and several new followers. And, now at the end of this very long blip post, I'll tell you there's a new post on my blog if you're interested.
