Living my dream

Amazing animals

Look how near Bean got to the Black Shag before it lifted off. She took no notice whatsoever, although she had clocked it but then found something more interesting in the grass.

I really didn't intend to go to Bortons Pond today, but it was a simply glorious cloudless one and once I'd done a few indoors jobs - to let the world warm up - there was an irresistible draw in that direction.

So we leapt into the car and had the most wonderful two hours wandering around watching birds, chatting to a couple of fishermen, and chasing fabulous smells.

See the extras for blue sky, reflections and the dead calm of the clear water.

We came home via the cooshed where I filled the milk churn. I've picked various veg and turned them into salads, which means that supper is sorted.

The sun is still shining, so I have a date with my book on the deck for the rest of the afternoon. What a lucky girl I am.
