This might look like a crazy project, but there’s a reason for this creation. I’m making part one of a cover for a journal. This took longer than it should’ve, because I used hemp string instead of cotton between the two layers of tissue paper… and hemp string is secretly a rebellious kind of string, not laying still while glued down, twisting and turning with a mind of its own. It was a struggle before I had them all some what glued down and could secure them with the second layer of tissue paper… But, what I do like about this is the organic look; some constructed and most just because of the hemp. Then acrylics, wax and another coat of mod podge to seal everything in.
Next step is to create some master boards for the second cover and pages, put together other pages and bind it, decorate it and find a closure.
This weekend has gone by so fast and I’m still tired.
