Kühkopf-Knoblochsaue

The walk with son M. (and Caspar) in the nature reserve Kühkopf-Knoblochsaue was a success. Okay, M. came back home nearly one hour late for the appointment he had. But at least we had no rain and could hike 15km through pure nature. Even all Sunday strollers stayed away from us.
The fact that we only saw a few distant roe deer was caused by the low number of them and huge fields of high grass (easy to hide).
This reserve is an island in the Rhine. At the south, east and north sides is the old Rhine (Altrhein) and at the west side the new Rhine (where the ships save much time). This shortcut exist almost 200 years now.
In the woods you might notice a very intense smell of bear leek.
Worth a visit, I'd say.
