The name of the game

Well the forecast was right - I won't have to water my pots today! It's been raining lightly most of the day. I took my neighbour down to the bus this morning - he's off to Denmark to stay with his son for a week - and did a bit of shopping while I was down.

The copper wire I ordered for attaching the engraved labels for the  new Dunollie shrub planting came today, so this afternoon I've been wiring them up, ready to go out next time we get a dry afternoon! The labels for the trees, which have one hole for inserting a screw, are already out - the others are for suspending from a small branch, or at the moment, from the wire guard. I have forty-one of the latter to do, some fifty in all. Reminds me of the old days at Arduaine!

My extra today is of Rhododendron 'Fragrantissimum Improved', a lovely scented though rather tender hybrid, though seems hardy here.
