Blossom

Looking through the blossom at the offices in Rubislaw Terrace.

On the weather front it was another day that sought to deceive me. Brilliant sunshine suggested I should be wearing sunglasses. It was not last as it soon clouded over. In the afternoon there was a strong cold wind, and rain.

To add to the chaos and confusion in the city centre the central part of Union Street was closed today. The closure is expected to last about 18 months. I think it is partly for the rebuilding of the market, as well as to narrow the road and widen the pavements, improving pedestrian access to be non-existent and/or unattractive shops.

In the meantime it makes access by bus to the shops in the Bon Accord centre, a shopping mall which is already struggling, more difficult and probably lead to more closures. The impending closure of Marks & Spencer's will also reduce footfall in this area.
