Here there and everywhere

No hat, shower, heavy rain and leaks.

Two weeks tomorrow since Bb had his operation and today was the first day he could wash his hair. Also the first day he ventured out without a hat. From some angles you’d hardly notice anything, but from other angles he still wears his hat as it can be a bit of a shock for those who aren’t prepared to see the graft and wound in progress. It’ll get better in the coming days and weeks.

We did bank business in the morning at our branch, and popped into El Mercat del Ninot food market just opposite, where we had a coffee, pan con tomato and little Spanish omelette.

It has been chucking it down very heavily all day. Good for the reservoirs and much needed. Bb was working downstairs in the afternoon and I was working upstairs. Suddenly I noticed that our bedroom was flooded and the water was running out the bedroom door and across the landing, soaking the rug there. I called out to Bb, thinking we’d had a roof leak. Luckily, it was less serious and the drain on our balcony from our bedroom had got blocked with leaves and so the rain had come in our balcony door! Cue an hour of both of us with buckets and mops, mopping up the water. Then when we thought we should put the heating on to heat the place up, our gas boiler wasn’t working and so we had to call a gas person out to fix that. Luckily, we have a maintenance contract. The guy thinks it might only have a few months left in it. It is quite old to be honest, but fingers crossed. The guy was at our door within 90 minutes.
