Bushtit

It’s amazing—my Photos app was able to identify this bird as an American Bushtit from a tiny, noisy, blurry image! The actual bird is fairly tiny, noisy and blurry itself, due to constant motion in the pear tree. Some of the leaves were bigger than the birds, and I was never quite sure what I was looking at. I thought I was watching two or three hopping around, but then a bluejay swooped in and the whole tree erupted in startled little birds, too many to count, and too fast. The show was over in a few minutes, and I was lucky enough to catch the whole thing.
