Political Colours

Another day of guiding at Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse.

A curious day. The house was very cold although the weather was sunny. Visitors were sporadic. A group of Muslim girls delighted in playing billiards. They were enjoying themselves so much they had forgotten to tour the bedroom floor.

I gave them a whistle-stop tour  before they left to take a walk around the hickory golf course.

I suspect they will be back. All are studying courses at the University of Edinburgh.

Today’s portrait is of Mrs Young, the sister of Charles James Fox who was a prominent member of the Whig Party.

She showed in the colours of her hand muff.

I like to think that she is now supporting Ukraine.

The portrait is by Allan Ramsay  Wikipedia gives a very full account of his life and works.
