Songbird serenade

Stood here this morning, Merlin app on..
Robin, blackbird, blue tit, song thrush, Willow Warbler, wren, coal tit, Blackcap & goldfinch. Some birdsong I recognise, other not so great but with the app, I'm gradually picking up more birdsong. Bliss!!!
Early shop at Tesco's before heading to Mum's this morning. My shop, Mum's shop, plus atm withdrawal for Mel, the cleaner.
Packed Mum's shop away, finding items out of place, re-placing them in their normal home. Walked Indie, the sun broke through occasionally but quite fresh. Back at Base, Mel was just finishing. Mum & I had a coffee with a naughty Belgian chocolate éclair. Then it was time to make Mum's lunch.. Lamb hotpot, a Tesco's ready meal with fresh sprouts & carrots. 2/5 :-( Probably won't be on the menu again.. The potato slices were too thin. Before, during, & after Mum's lunch I was searching high & low for Mum's glasses, both pairs... I double checked everywhere, every room, every drawer, cupboard, even the waste bins, inside & out. Eureka!!! Second search of the lounge, right at the back of the TV cabinet drawer was where I found them.
That was a relief.
Back home for a late lunch, I quickly laundered the bedding to hang out. It was quite mild this afternoon. I had a bit of a blitz in the greenhouse, washed a batch of small plastic pots in readiness for a possible seed potting sesh first thing in the morning. Hard pruned the Salix Mt. Aso, plus hypericum which had shot up. Our neighbour unfortunately has all his wood turning/sanding kit in a shed the other side of our garden fence so it felt a bit like gardening on an industrial site. I expect he was wearing ear protectors.
