Living my dream

Doing a Frida

Blipper Mydaytoday2018 has a beautiful dog called Frida who regularly features in Blips running happily towards the camera.

Today Bean decided to emulate her. I love her upright ears, like a German Shepherd. And the carpet of autumn leaves.

Our weather has reverted to horizon to horizon blue sky, following yesterday's 5.5mm of rain. I had a lovely afternoon picking mature bean pods, planning a few wee projects and completing a couple of small jobs.

This morning I dashed into town to get my Covid booster: this is the only day it's available in Oamaru these days. It is just over six months since I had the last vaccine and I'm keen to keep my immunity boosted. It has worked so far. I am one of the few people left around here who hasn't contracted Covid. Yet.

Whilst in town I dropped into the bulk bin store for a couple of items, and allowed myself to buy a real treat: stroopwafels imported from the Netherlands.

I have ridiculous self-imposed rules around these indulgences. I only buy them if I'm already in the shop for at least two other things. I only buy one packet. I only eat one stroopwafel at a sitting (there are eight in a packet), and always with a cup of tea.

In these ways they always remain a real treat and I can afford to enjoy them periodically.
