West Shore

My day starts with a visit to the surgery for a very rare face-to-face appointment with a GP. It was made two weeks ago following a phone consultation discussing the pain that has been keeping me awake at night. Coping with pain during the day I find relatively easy - most of the time, but at night it’s a different matter. It has been suggested it may be ‘nerve pain’, and she prescribes pregabalin. I really don’t like taking lots of medication, but chronic illness has such an impact on day to day life that I’m happy to give anything a try.

It’s then onto Llandudno where we treat ourselves to lunch in one gallery before proceeding to another to pick up the wood engraving we purchased back in March - I’m really looking forward to hanging this in our lounge.

And then it’s West Shore - and it’s so beautiful today. I must admit the one tablet that I’ve taken has produced a rather spaced out feeling - but the whole scene has a magical quality. Low tide, almost deserted, and amazingly warm as the sun above the bay breaks through the clouds. On the horizon, above the mountains, dark clouds still cling, but coming inshore, the clouds are breaking up into a delicate mackerel sky.  The water is flat calm, waves almost imperceptible ripples. There is a wonderful dreamlike quality to the scene - so good for the soul.
