Life's Little Moments

Uh oh

Sometimes you get something on camera that just makes you laugh and this was one of those times.  I had been testing out the 400mm lens on a young squirrel who was screwing around in the yard.  What I could see was a second, larger squirrel who was advancing on the youngster.  The larger one started to pick up speed so I just kept focus on the smaller one and got two very fun shots.  The second is in Extra - I honestly couldn't decide which was funnier.  Finally the youngster took evasive action and eventually got away.  But if you've ever seen gray squirrels tangle, you know that they can be pretty aggressive.

I was going to head up to the Refuge to photograph the martins and swallows but my perfect overcast sky became a cloudless, sunny extravaganza.  And while the sunshine feels quite nice, it makes for crappy pictures of birds in flight (or any birds, really).  I hope the conditions might be more favorable tomorrow.

Jax is at day care, where he spends every Thursday.  He enjoys the time with his dog friends (as well as the young women who work there who all make a big fuss over him) and we get a "free" day.  In this instance, it was a perfect time to mop all the floors and wash his bedding.

I also made my first trip to the local farm/garden center and came home with some herbs and some flowers to plant.  How I love this time of year!

Last night’s movie was “Air” with Matt Damon and Ben Afleck and Viola Davis. It was the story of how Nike became partnered with Michael Jordan and it was excellent! Available on Amazon Prime.

Probably dark with expresso bean nibs today.
