A Daily Dose

Karongwe

What a fantastic day!
We left the farm at 0600 hrs to go the short distance to Karongwe, another game reserve where the nephew has a sort of 'time share'.  The family has the use of a lodge for one week per month and Ian is allowed to drive the game vehicle. He can speak the local languages so can communicate with the other rangers to find out what is where.  Today we found a cheetah with her two cubs - stunning  to see even though they were well hidden in the undergrowth.  We also came across a lion coupling.  And the herd of elephant which walked right by and in front of the Land Rover!  We could have touched them.   Another amazing day in nature.
Then this afternoon we went to feed the animals in the park before heading home to host a dinner for all.  David had cooked a huge hunk of lamb and Y and I did the veggies and I made the pudding.
A right feast and a final delicious meal for me on the farm for this journey.
It has been fantastic to see everyone, enjoy Africa and the animals and especially to spend time with my sister and see her health improving.
