Marsh Marigold

I was rather afraid I might have just missed blipping marsh marigolds this year, on the whole they're beginning to fade. However, I saw this lot a week ago and, hoping they might still be current, went back today.  As you can see, avoiding the older blooms they were still able to give of their best!

When I was a child I knew these wildflowers as kingcups, but that seems to be a name that has entirely faded.  Too royalist for modern tastes?  Yes, maybe.

Nothing else much to report about my day - peaceful but quite hardworking.  Hope yours has been good and that you're looking forward to a great bank holiday (in the UK) weekend  xx
