Bittersweet

A bittersweet sort of afternoon. We went to the funeral of Anne O, a friend who died quite suddenly. For over 20 years she belonged to Wakefield Morris Dancers (a side that I used to dance with before moving north), and she had several other roles as well as playing with the band. A very sad occasion, of course, but also a celebration of her life.

Most of the dancers, past and present, attended in their Morris kit, and at the wake performed a dance called 'Celebration', in honour of Anne. Pam, at the front of the Blip, is wearing the kit of Buttercross Belles, the side she now dances with.

After that, it was good to get out in the evening to Soul Choir, which was anything but sombre.
