Monarch of the glen

Not the traditional red deer, though the colour is right. Rusty spent most of his time studying the valley in front of him but it made for a better picture when he turned his head a little this way.  He enjoys being high up, especially if we are going to sit around for a while.
We ate breakfast outside this morning, for the first time this year. I was going to add that as an extra but HarlingDarling posted a similar image as her blip.
Then we moved onto shifting wood. Some was chopped to length and the rest was in logs so it was a fairly heavy job moving it up to the woodshed. 3 barrow loads of 30cm lengths and another dozen trips  carrying logs. Rusty wasn't helping but he was running around the whole time, following me or Jan and popping back and forth between us to check we we still around. He seemed as tired as we were by the time we'd finished.
Then the pictured walk, which wasn't far but the terrain was rough and we were clearing small felled trees from the path.
A final evening walk around 10:30 and we are all fairly pooped out. Rusty took himself to bed as soon as we came in, and once I've posted this I'll be headed upstairs to bed too.
Lots of exercise and some heavy sleeping - life seems fairly healthy just now.
