There Must Be Magic

Columbine in the Rain

We're in a wet phase, and in fact, it's supposed to rain almost every day for most of the next two weeks. I'm glad that my husband got the first mow in (he mows less of the yard each year, as I make more flower gardens), and I got to do the laundry and hang it on the line. We did those things just in time, apparently. For now we have hit rainy season.

I love columbine, also known as Aquilegia, and we have huge clumps of it growing out front now. Every time I walk down the driveway, there they are. They look like jesters as the blooms are starting, and then they open, and they have these glorious, complex shapes. And the colors! Even in the rain, they look like angels . . . or maybe ghosts.

Since I'm the one who brought up ghosts, here's our soundtrack song, which is the first tune on the soundtrack for the movie Ghost: the Righteous Brothers, with Unchained Melody.

P.S. There is big little music news! My brand new black and red (much smaller) Sandisk mp3 player arrived in the mail today. You'll get to meet it soon. . . .
