Chore of the day

or one of them. Moved all the logs from the side of the house to the side of the storage shed. It took us 3 hours. I hung the green covers on both sides to shield from the rain. They are now more exposed to the elements, but now we are obeying the fire safety regulations. In case there's an arsonist on the loose.

We also installed 3 more fire alarms into the house. Will need 2 more. What I learned on the fire safety course was, that you should have an alarm in every room where there is a real risk of a fire. For instance if a lithium battery burst into flame, it will start developing poisonous gas in 2 minutes. If you wait for the gas to reach the alarm, you might be dead or unconscious already. Like I said previously, it was an interesting and eye opening lecture. There were all these little nuggets that really made me see things differently. So I am copying what the lecturer said she does in her house, not the basic regulations. She investigates fires, so I think she really knows what she is talking about.

My mum turns 80 today. She and my dad are on a cruise to Stockholm and back. They are staying in a Marimekko suite. Picture looked very nice. They have a little balcony too. We gifted my mum a baby elephant (thanks to Blipper Anitsirk) who mentioned it in one of her posts. My mum liked the idea. I do have a gift set of Elizabeth Arden skin care that I will give to her later when I see her. Now she just has the elephant Long'uro in Kenia.

Sunny day with passing clouds. Cold Siberian wind blowing and making it really cold, so cold that it will bring night time frost the following week. I have covered the plants in the greenhouse partially. Will have to cover more for the night. I will keep the base covered all week and the upper parts only for the nights. No rest for the farmer.
