Sanday Haar

I caught the ferry to Sanday and it was sunny the whole way. The we arrived at Sanday at the same time as the haar. I was hoping for spring migrants and found a male pied flycatcher quite quickly but he was a false dawn. There were a couple of willow warblers and a large bid flew completely silently from a tall shrub/tree and I am sure it was a long-eared owl, though I only glimpsed it. I also saw a beautiful short-eared owl but no birds were really within shot. The shot is at the Little Sea at low tide and it was weird cycling on the hard sand in the fog.
