litl hikes

By litl

If I’d known it was going to stay dry all day I would have spent it gardening but all the forecasts showed rain though they couldn’t agree when it would come.

Late morning, after some dusting and vacuuming, I got on a bus to Grasmere and went to Allan Bank, a National Trust property. I’d forgotten how steep some of the steps were on the woodland walk. It’s home to red squirrels but I didn’t see any today, possibly because I spent much of my time looking down and watching where I was putting my feet. I didn’t take a lens long enough to photograph squirrels so don’t mind not having seen any.

The views across Grasmere from the house and some parts of the garden are wonderful but my photos weren’t.

Lots more woodland photos in the extra.
