Confusion...

Today's Mono Monday theme - double exposure - suited me fine.  Plenty of scope to capture this afternoon's picture of confusion.
Eben was with me for much of the afternoon.  The plan was for a short drumming practice, and then perhaps a mix of board games and TV.
However... Eben was tired, and - frankly - ratty. This is rare for him. What he really wanted to do was to hang out with his friend Alfie (who lives next door to him) and play Minecraft. Minecraft is an intense obsession for them both at the moment.  Both sets of parents do set some boundaries around screen time, but both boys test those boundaries on a daily basis.
We did a token drum practice, but nothing appealed to Eben really. I got out one of those things that we keep for moments like these, a "build your own paper plane launcher" kit.
Eben opened it enthusiastically but quickly got frustrated.  Soon he'd painted himself right into a corner: refusing all offers of help ("I know how to do it, don't help me!!"), but making hasty mistakes that made progress impossible ("It's a terrible design!! I bet it was designed by a robot!!").
Cutting a long and tedious story short, we finally reached an agreement to put the kit aside for another day.
He's not entirely wrong about the kit, the diagrams are more enigmatic than IKEA's.
