Leaky Ceiling

This morning, two very nice technos from Rafalux arrived to install my new ac unit.

All was going well until they came to remove the old fan unit from the utility room roof.

It seems the previous installers had forced the old fan so hard up against the pipework, that upstair's bathroom waste pipes were cracked and once the fan had gone, they started to leak a lot. Luckily that flat is not often occupied in the winter, else I could have had a nasty flood.

So all is well and the new fan safely installed. However, the suspended ceiling has to be replaced and made lower to avoid the problem again. More expense, but that should be sorted on Friday.

I have successfully tested the ac and it is great, very quiet and gently cools the whole flat.

It's only taken two years and endless stressing because the Leroy Merlin installation was so dreadful.

Lesson learned.
