Angels in Landaff Cathedral

Had a wonderful singing day here with the composer Matthew Coleridge conducting his Requiem. Plus his music of the Nunc Dimitis. We did a performance at 7pm to which Judy and Freddie came. Judy was a bit alarmed to read that requiems can go on for 3.5 hours! Not this one, Much to Judy’s relief we were out by 20.20!

Went back to the house and watched the Eurovision Song Contest and wished we hadn’t. Lots of sound and fury and special effects with huge amounts of bare flesh being revealed.

This blip is taken inside the cathedral looking towards the entrance. It is an Epstein sculpture which was put up in the 50s.

More angels in the roof and holing the Bishops crown, though these are one wing each with bare feet.

The archway is from the 1100s and is very beautifully carved.
