Rare Butterfly - under my feet

The Duke of Burgundy is a small butterfly with a wingspan of 30 mm. In England it is only found in select areas - mainly central southern England, with isolated populations in Kent, the Midlands, North Yorkshire, and Northwest England.

This was on the path right in front of me and didn't seem to mind having its photograph taken. When taking photographs of butterflies, it is important not to let your own shadow fall over them, otherwise they will fly off.

Update: I've added a photo of a slow worm as an extra. This was also right in front of me ( on a woodland path)  - I very nearly stepped on it!
