More coloured skies

I couldn't help myself and went out just before midnight last night to see if I could see the aurora.  I wound up at Catho but decided to head to a more Southern looking viewpoint but it had by then started raining and there was no chance of seeing anything.

I have to say although I have seen the aurora before, I couldn't see much with the naked eye at Catho.  There was light pollution of the nearby surf club and the tide was too high to walk around to near the jetty.  It's amazing what the camera picks up isn't it.

I didn't get to bed until nearly 2 am and was late getting up and then going to the nursing home with Maggy.  A sad day today as one of my favourites passed away not long after I held her hand and Maggy gave her a farewell lick.  I don't think she registered us and her grandson was with her in the end and left a message for me to say how much he appreciated our visit.   She had a very peaceful death and it was my pleasure to do something for the family in those tough times.  RIP M.
