Another Day

Three-masted Schooner at anchor

We woke to rain and strong wind, which didn’t bode well for the day.

After breakfast we went to Kresen Kernow in Redruth, where the archives are kept and I booked a microfiche slot for tomorrow morning and ordered two wills to look at, which hopefully will be readable.

We then drove to Wendron church and found the grave I was looking for immediately inside the lychgate.

JJ then decided we’d head for the park and ride at St Erth and take the train into St Ives.  Unfortunately satnag took us the quickest route, and the narrowest, which inevitably means high hedges and grass up the middle of the road.  We met three vehicles and had to negotiate a passing place, where unfortunately one of those Cornish stones scraped the bumper of JJ’s new car.  I’m going back to map reading.

St Ives was busy as usual and looking very tired along the front.  I did say last year that I didn’t want to go back.  It rained on and off and we had a job standing up it was so windy, but the sea still looked amazing.
